| The United Way of East Central Iowa is sponsoring a series of trainings for individuals that work with the youth of our community. The Youth Worker Methods Trainings were designed by the High/Scope Foundation and the Center for Youth and Program Quality, a collaboration of leading providers of research-based professional development for adults who educate and nurture youth at all ages of development. These interactive workshops are designed to enhance the development and execution of youth worker methods correlated with the development of providing a safe, supportive, interactive and engaging environment for youth.
Each 2 hour training is FREE and provides concrete and abstract strategies for improving overall program quality and outcomes that encompass the Ready by 21 Initiative: To help all youth become ready for work, college and life by age 21. A take-home workbook is included with trainings. Funding is provided through Linn County DECAT. 2.0 Social Work CEUs are also available. Cost: $5. If interested, please bring a check or cash and your license number (if applicable) to the session.
